In 2018, my mother, Crystal Disotell, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and later learned she carried the BRCA gene. As our family moved through treatments, hospital visits, and the daily realities of cancer, I became painfully aware of how many everyday products – especially cleaning chemicals – contain toxins that can be harmful, irritating, and even carcinogenic—especially for those already fighting for their health.

My mother’s diagnosis led me to get tested, and I too discovered I carry the BRCA gene. That knowledge changed the course of my life—it gave me the power to protect myself and everyone I love. My mom’s fight wasn’t just for her; it was a gift of hope and safety for all of us.”

In 2025, when my mother was later diagnosed with terminal cancer, the mission behind The Conscious Cleaning Co. became undeniable.

I created this company for my mom—and for every person living with cancer, carrying genetic risk, caregiving for a loved one, or simply seeking a safer environment. The Conscious Cleaning Co. is dedicated to creating clean spaces without harmful chemicals, prioritizing products that are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and non-carcinogenic.

For cancer patients especially, as well as caregivers, families and employees, a clean space should be a place of comfort, safety, and healing—not risk. The Conscious Cleaning Co exists to offer peace of mind, reduce toxic exposure, and provide a safe environment where healing, rest, and daily life can happen with greater care.

This is more than a cleaning company. It is a tribute. A purpose. And a way to turn love into protection.
